Push analytics
The Push analytics tab in Push notifications shows how text mailings performed. One chart has two lines: Sent and Delivered. Under the chart, keep All time or pick a year.
Each point is one completed mailing, including deleted ones. Hover a point to see the name, the date, and the numbers.
Number of cards is the first figure. It is how many cards have been issued, not how many phones received the message. Not every issued card is installed in Wallet.
Sent means the message goes only to installed cards. The line shows what share of issued cards actually received the mailing. It is not a send to everyone.
Delivered counts only installed cards that were online at that moment and fetched the update. A phone without a connection does not get the message, even if the card is installed.
Delivery drops when pushes go out too often: phones pick up each next update less often, or the user simply turns these updates off.
The chart also marks the Apple Wallet certificate. A green band is the time the certificate is valid. A red band is the gap after it expired and before a new one was uploaded. In the red zone the delivery percent falls almost to zero, because Apple does not accept the send.
After you upload a new certificate, delivery may recover, but it can come back very slowly. Do not let the certificate expire: upload the next one while the green band is still in place.
