Get a Pass Type ID with NFC certificate

Attention: Read this guide in full before you start obtaining a certificate.

A Pass Type ID with NFC certificate lets you use NFC to identify Apple Wallet cards.

To issue this certificate:

  1. Register and pay for an Apple Developer account using these guides: for an individual or for a company.
  2. Go to https://developer.apple.com/wallet/resources, open NFC Certificate Request, and fill in the certificate application. In the application, describe your company and how you plan to use NFC cards.
  3. Obtain the Pass Type ID with NFC certificate by following the same Pass Type ID certificate guide.
