Stamp card

A stamp card draws a row of slots on the cover. An empty slot uses the place image, a filled slot uses the stamp image. The last slot is the gift: it changes when the customer’s stamp count reaches the goal. For example, nine coffees and the tenth free.

The settings are in the template editor, on the Stamps tab. The same images are placed on the Apple Wallet cover and the Google Wallet cover.

Variables

Create two numeric variables first: Settings → Variables. The name is Latin letters with no spaces. The default value is a whole number.

  • Total — how many stamps to collect. Allowed values are 1 to 9. The cover has one extra slot for the gift. For “nine purchases and a gift”, set 9 — the pass shows 10 slots.
  • Current — how many stamps the customer already has. The default must be from 0 up to Total minus 1, or the variable will not appear in the list.

If Total is not selected, the cover shows five slots: four stamps and a gift.

Images

Three PNG files with a transparent background:

  • Place — an empty slot.
  • Stamp — a filled slot.
  • Gift — the last slot once the goal is reached.

The template cover stays the background. Stamps sit in the center. More than five slots wrap onto two rows. The Preview buttons show the cover at each step. The gift button shows the finished card.

How a stamp is added

A customer’s stamp count is the value of the Current variable. Change it on the customer record, in a CRM, or through the API. The pass redraws the cover on the next sync.

While the value is below the goal, ordinary slots fill in. When the value reaches Total, the last slot becomes the gift.

Save the template. New passes are built with stamps. Issued passes update when the variable changes.
