Wallet Passes built for Sports Bar

Challenge

Big derby nights sold out. Mid-table weeknight matches were empty. Regulars had no reason to come when their club was not playing. A paper stamp for a free chopp was always “at home”.

Strategy

The Wallet Pass showed the next match on the TVs and a stamp toward a free chopp. A push two hours before kickoff, stronger for mid-table nights. A geo ping if a regular passed the bar on a quiet Wednesday.

Implementation

Match on the pass

The front listed kickoff and the room. Stamps added after each visit. The tenth chopp unlocked on the pass.

Issuing at the door

QR on the table tent issued the pass. Phone verification once.

Quiet kickoffs

Two hours before a mid-table match, guests inactive for 14 days received one push. Derby nights were not discounted.

Results

In 4 months of the Brasileirão:

  • Mid-table nights. Covers on non-derby weeknights rose by 25%.
  • Stamps. 66% of regulars installed the pass.
  • Kickoff push. 15% of quiet-night pushes were redeemed that evening.

Conclusion

A sports bar cannot manufacture a derby. It can put the next kickoff and a chopp stamp on a Wallet Pass.
