Working with segments
A segment is a group of customers who match the conditions you set. You can pick a segment when sending a push or in a trigger, so the action goes to that group instead of the whole database.
The Segments section is available on the Advanced and Expert plans.
Create a segment
- Open Segments and click Create segment.
- Enter a name.
- Click Add criterion and choose a condition.
- Set the comparison and the value.
- Add more criteria if you need them. A customer is included only when every criterion matches.
- Save the segment.
- In the segment list, recalculate the size and open the members to check who was included.
Available criteria
- Card issue form — customers who received a card through the selected form.
- Promo code — customers with the specified promo code.
- Template — customers with the selected card template.
- Card numbers — one number, or several numbers separated by commas.
- Age — a numeric comparison in years. If the birthday is missing, age is treated as 0.
- Gender — male, female, or not specified.
- Balance, bonus, and discount — equal, greater than, less than, and the range boundaries.
- Sync — the customer is linked to the CRM, or is not linked yet.
- Installed, Installed Apple, and Installed Google — how many times the card is installed on devices.
- Push — an exact match, or a text fragment. Choose the like comparison to match a fragment.
- Custom fields from Settings → Variables. They use the same numeric comparisons.
You can remove a criterion while you are editing the segment. A segment that is already used by a trigger cannot be deleted: detach it from the trigger first.
You can then select the segment in a trigger or when sending a push.
